Game freak: Silent Hill 2 (SPOILER ALERT)

Okay, I've got to talk about this.
Lately, I've been very onto horror video games and I started to play Silent Hill. It took me several deeps of breath before asking one of my friends to borrow me so I could play. Since I've already seen Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 walkthroughs and since the first one was kinda old and I already knew the story, I decided to start with Silent Hill 2.

Best.Fucking.Story.Ever.

James is a moron, I got to admit. A total moron. He goes to Silent Hill because he receives a letter from his DEAD wife, Mary. Who the fuck goes to a town with a bad reputation because he has received a letter from a deceased person? Didn't he think it could be some kind of joke? Even if it was similar to Mary's handwritting, James is still a moron. Then, when Laura kicks the key away from him, he can't reach it with his hand BUT he could reach it with his wooden stick that he uses to beat monster ._. Yeah, a wooden stick. I used it very often during the game so I wouldn't waste ammo.

Either way, I love the letter she sends to him:
"In my restless dreams, I see that town, Silent Hil. You promised you'd take me there again, but you never did. Well, I'm alone there now, in our Special Place"

This sentence gives me the chills. It always makes me wonder about what James has promised and how he lied to her... He would never take her again to Silent Hill. He was so... tired.

The special place is quite a place to find, since James first mistakes it for another place u.u moron. On his way to Silent Hill, he finds a disturbed woman, Angela. You will find her quite a few times but the first time I saw her and the way she avoided close contact with people made me clear that she had been abused. In what way, I was not entirely sure still. When I arrive to Silent Hill, I encounter another person: Maria. Which is by coincidence (or not) exactly a clone of Mary, James' dead wife.

Then, your quest to get to the real special place begins. The special place Mary was talking was the Hotel they stood, a few years ago, when Mary was still healthy. To get there, you pass through several places, discovering little by little why is James there. In the apartments, you find Pyramid Head and I've got to say, sexy and scary all in one is not that easy. I found him raping manequins on one of the rooms, which was quite disturbing, since he rapes them with his helmet... Gosh, wicked but I falled in love with that creepy character.

Either way, I lost Maria (not Mary) when you escape Pyramid Head on the hospital. She dies. Like -stabstab- she's dead. (Thank god, I hated that bitch actually).

But it won't the last time she dies... She will die another two times, one on the Toluca Prison and another on the Hotel as one of the bosses. Pyramid Head is always the one that kills her.
And this made me think, and I thought right: James was being punished. For what, I still didn't know but something happened to Mary and she died because of James. Pyramid Head was his punisher and Maria, Mary's clone, existed only for one purpose: to tempt James and to die over and over again as a sign of punishment.

I was stunned by the meanings of these two characters, the creators did a wonderful job.

There is also this girl, Laura, and I've always wondered about what was she doing there besides being a messenger from Mary to James. Did she have any sins that needed to be clean? She was a further inocent child.

At the end of the game (well, you guess as you go but -shrugs-), I found out that James killed Mary. Any ending you get, you have killed Mary because you were tired of taking care of her. Because she was sick and you were stuck with her. Everything fits.

James is being punished by Pyramid Head and Maria for killing Mary because of selfish matters. But James is aware of that fact and has he arrives to Silent Hill, Pyramid Head and Maria exist ONLY because of James as well. Perfect, I must say. You also fight a boss which is Maria itself in a very monstrous way.

The ending I got was the one that I leave the town safe and sound with Laura.

All this thing got me wonder about the symbolism of the monsters as well. Pyramid Head is also meaning of James sexual reprivation, that's why you find him raping manequins. Angela was abbused by her father and therefore she killed him, but she still finds herself guilty and ends up dying in Silent Hill. Eddie is another character that I didn't give much attention. Fatso. -shot by Eddie-

Most of the monster are about James sexual desires... Geez, DUDE GET LAID WITH A HOOKER, LIKE MARIA. -rolls eyes-

Well, I better STOP writing. But I was so caught into Silent Hill, that I think one day I might find the town and die there ._. Shit.

I will do more posts about Silent Hill and other stuff. But for now, it's all.

-everybody shouts Hallellujah-
